THE JAPANESE HORROR LEGEND


Okiku Doll

Okiku Doll is small, kimono-clad dolls that have been named after a girl who never played with it. Legend has it that the doll possessed by the spirit of the girl. Some even claim that the doll's hair continues to grow, where it was cut. Scientific examination of the hair was supposed to do, and concluded that the doll's hair is that of a young girl.

Hanako-san

All in all Japanese schools in the country, there are said to be a ghost in the girls bathroom. This ghost of a young girl, called Hanako-san, it is usually said to inhabit the third stall in the bathroom on the third floor. He is most often described as having bobbed hair and wearing a red skirt. There are hundreds of different variations of the girl and why she haunts the school bathroom.

Cow Head

One of the most terrifying urban legends is that of a Japanese horror stories called "Cow Head". The story is supposedly so terrible that many people die of fright after hearing it. The Japanese say that the story was derived from the seventeenth century, but until today, the true origin of the story is a mystery. In one account, a school teacher and his naughty class travel by school bus while in transit. To calm down his class, the teacher began to tell them scary stories. When he started to tell known Cow Head, the students started screaming and asked him to stop, but by the time the teacher was in a trance and could not stop telling stories. Rumor said that after hearing the story, listeners overcome fear so great that they are shaking violently for days until they finally die of fear.


Throughout Japan, there are hundreds of large-scale construction project was built with the human body that serves as a supporting pillar. Legend has it that the ancient Japanese culture believed that the sealing as part of the development was not just an offering to the gods, but also yields a more robust and more stable. One of the most famous buildings are reported to have architectural features of Matsue Castle is terrible. In the tunnel, workers found a skeleton erect many improvements in the foundation walls. To this day, the train conductor reported that tunnels are haunted by the ghosts of those buried in the wall.

Destroying the relationship rowboat

In western Tokyo, there are ponds in the park Inokashira famous for causing couples to split-up after they took the rowboat out into the waters. When the goddess saw the happy couple in a rowboat, he became angry and forced them apart. His curse may be terminated if the couple paid her a visit to the temple soon after their boat ride. This curse described also haunt other ponds and lakes throughout Japan.

Urban Legends influence in Japan

Japanese urban legend is a part of popular culture in the country. In some cases, confidence in these horrific stories are so powerful that it actually affects how the Japanese work, play and live.
